Following a short meeting last night, prior to Senior nets, it was agreed that the weekly selection meeting would remain on Thursdays, but with the slightly later start time of 8.15pm.

As a new innovation for 2016, selector Dave Rolinson will keep a 'diary of unavailability', and those not available for selection on any weekend during the season should let Dave know as soon as possible. This will enable the selectors to discuss in advance the options we have regarding covering the player's absence.

For the first time in several years, we will be selecting 3 sides for almost every Saturday [there are a couple of 'bye weeks' for the 3rd XI], so it is important that as many players as possible make themselves available on a regular basis. Selection for the Snape Cup T20 games v Wyre will also be discussed in these meetings. It is each individual's personal responsibility to make either their side's captain or a member of the selection committee aware of any unexpected unavailability.

For those unaware of who to contact; Rob Dingle is the 1st XI captain, Greg Tirrell will captain the 2nd XI and Jeremy Newman the 3rd XI. Owen Williams is the Sunday XI captain and Liam Borkwood will captain the Snape Cup side. The selection committee comprises Dave Rolinson, Brian Smith and Neil Vincent. Unavailability can also be communicated to the Chair of our Cricket Committee, Andy Brown.

Thornton Cleveleys Cricket Club

Playing at one of most pleasant places to play cricket in Lancashire, Thornton Cleveleys Cricket Club are the an amateur club on the Fylde Coast. With 4 senior teams and 4 junior sides, we give our members the chance to play competitive cricket whilst enjoying the great social aspect that a family club provides.

Our ground, that overlooks the River Wyre, is situated in Little Thornton, tucked away behind the old Illawalla Nightclub site. Accessible from Wyre Road (off Skippool Road) cricket is played most days throughout the summer.

The Club has a thriving Junior Section with over 15 qualified junior coaches, who run 4 junior teams offering relevant coaching to each child; from soft ball training to the young ones, to intense training to the Under 17s. By developing our homegrown talent we are able to give our juniors opportunities in senior cricket in either one of our two Saturday sides, or our two Sunday teams who all play in the Palace Shield Cricket Competition.

A team of dedicated followers and volunteers mean that TCCC is a joy to play at for our own members and also visiting opposition. It has been widely recognised as TCCC having "The Best Teas in the Palace Shield"
